Scoop: New Porsche Cayman GTS and Boxster GTS Caught Undisguised

We first came to learn about the upcoming GTS versions of the related Porsche Cayman coupe and Boxster roadster through a leaked dealer presentation document last September, and now, we can give the first camouflage-free photos of the two models.

Much like the existing GTS variant of the Panamera saloon, the new editions of the Cayman and Boxster are based on their respective "S" models and will gain slightly more potent engines, chassis improvements and some limited styling revisions.

In the spy shots, we can see the redesigned front bumper with re-trimmed and modified air channels, and at the back, a new rear diffuser. While the two testers were wearing 19-inch wheels with winter tires, the production cars will feature different 20-inch rims. Some minor upgrades to the interior trim and colors are also to be expected.

The presentation document that surfaced online last year mentioned a humble 15hp bump for both cars, with the Cayman GTS rated at 340PS (335hp) and the Boxster GTS at 330PS (325hp), plus standard PASM damper control.

The same paper said Porsche will host the world premiere of the two GTS models at the 2014 China Auto Show in Beijing this April with sales to kick off this summer.

Fresh Spy Shots of 2015 Porsche Cayenne Mk2 Facelift

Having set the styling tone with the new Macan and the revised Panamera, Porsche now plans to transfer these latest design lessons to the facelifted version of the second-generation Cayenne (launched in 2010), which will likely break cover later this year wearing the 2015MY moniker.

The covered up front and rear bumpers, and the fake light decals on the head- and tail-lamps, tell us that Porsche's stylists will concentrate their exterior facelift efforts on these parts.

Our spies, who had the opportunity to get a closer look at the prototype pictured here, say that the outline of the true rear-light fixtures resembled those of the Macan.

On the mechanical front, we hear that the Cayman Cayenne S' naturally aspirated V8 with 395hp (400PS) will be retired and replaced with Porsche's new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engine pumping out 414hp (420PS) and 520 Nm (383.5 lb-ft), and that the Panamera S Hybrid E's 410hp V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain will premiere in the range, without excluding more updates to the series.

Spied: Porsche Nabbed Testing Updated 911 Turbo!

Porsche is a brand renowned for its unremitting evolutionary approach, but the appearance of lightly camouflaged prototype of what looks like an updated 991 Turbo only three months after the car went on sale in Europe and just as it arrives in North American and other dealerships around the world, has caught us by surprise.

We recognize that automakers begin work on completely new or revised projects years before they arrive on the market, but it's not at all common to see facelifted prototypes of a model that just went on sale.

These photos of the 911 Turbo come about a week after another camouflaged 991 tester, which is believed to be the 911 GTS, was spied in Europe.

In both cases, there seem to be styling changes hidden behind the covered bumpers and the taillights, which our scoop photographers say that up close, looked bigger than the ones used on the current model and appeared to feature a similar "3-D look" to those on the Macan crossover.

It’s still too early to have information on any engine updates or changes to the cabin, but if Porsche continues to circulate these prototypes, we should find out more soon.
