Jaguar C-X17 Concept Wears Red for the Brussels Motor Show

Jaguar’s C-X17 Concept debuted with a blue paint at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, then switched to gray for the Dubai Motor Show and finally went for a brown-gold hue at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

If you thought Jaguar’s search for the perfect color has ended, think again, as for the Brussels Motor Show (January 16-26), the crossover concept made its appearance wearing a flashy Italian Racing Red paint job.

Compared to the study displayed in Guangzhou that featured a 5-seat configuration, the Jaguar C-X17 has now reverted to its original 4-seat concept. No other changes were made to the sporty crossover concept, which Jaguar still insists it has created to showcase its all-new advanced aluminum architecture.

The new platform will debut in 2015 on Jaguar’s upcoming entry-level sedan, which means we’ll have to wait even longer for a production C-X17.

So Jaguar, I give up: the C-X17 looks great in red too. When are you going to build it?

Place Your Bets: Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series vs Jaguar XKR-S GT vs Aston V12 Vantage S

The following video comparison reunites some of the most hardcore coupes one can think of: the 542hp Jaguar XKR-S GT, the 565hp Aston Martin V12 Vantage S and the 510hp Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series.

Autocar reviewer Steve Sutcliffe makes no secret of the fact that the Mercedes is one of his all-time favorite cars, so the comparison is all about finding which of the two British cars comes close to the AMG-flavored C-Class Coupe.

On paper, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is the fastest, hitting 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standing start in just 3.7 seconds – 0.2 seconds faster than the Jag and 0.5 seconds faster than the Merc. But what happens on the track? You’ll have to hit play on the video posted below to find out.

This is How Le Mans Racing Cars Look and Sound when Driven on the Street

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your own Le Mans racing car and to be able to drive it on the street? Well, the guys from the video you’re about to watch are living this dream – literally.

These three men from Japan each own a Le Mans racing car that has actually participated at least once at the 24 Hours of Le Mans! Furthermore, two of them somehow received approval to drive them occasionally on the street, which means each and every one of their outings is impossible to ignore.

The cars are the Mazda 767B (yes, the one with the four-rotor engine), Jaguar XJ220LM and Porsche 962C, and the video was put together by Motorhead magazine.

There's not much to add that the video itself doesn't explain, so without further ado, turn up the volume in your speakers and enjoy the show.

Mercedes-Benz Strikes Back at Jaguar with Photo Ad!

The friendly advertising rivalry between Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar that erupted after the later made fun of the former's chicken spot in its own video continues, and as Mr. Ronald would say, we're loving it!

So, after the Jaguar ate the chicken in the British firm's commercial (see all videos below), Mercedes quickly responded with this print-like ad on its FaceBook page with the following comment:

"Jaguar is proud of their cat-like reflexes.#IntelligentDrive helps ensure they can stay that way."

The ad itself reads, "Because cat-like reflexes aren't fast enough. The PRE-SAFE brake".

We're hoping that Jaguar replies and continues this harmless, but no doubt amusing and beneficial advertising for both brands, especially with the younger crowds. Perhaps BMW, Audi, Cadillac or Lexus can jump in with their own ads…

We tip out hats to Rok for the heads up!
