Supercharged 2015 Corvette Z06 Speculatively Rendered

It won't be long before we find out what the first performance edition of the seventh-generation Corvette Stingray is all about, as GM plans to pull the sheets off the new Z06 at the 2014 Detroit motor Show on Monday, January 13. In the meantime, the folks over from TopSpeed sent us this speculative photoshop.

The digital conversion package from regular 2014 Corvette Stingray to 2015 Corvette Stingray Z06 encompasses the use of carbon fiber aero parts such as front splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler, mixed with black wheels and body trim.

We already know that the new Z06 will come with a supercharged V8 engine producing at least 620-horses (today we heard that GM may actually up that number) along with a bag of other performance- and handling-enhancing goodies.

New 2015 Corvette Z06 gets 620HP, Reveals Chevrolet's Official Website

Thanks to Chevrolet, we now know exactly what to expect in terms of output from the upcoming 2015 Corvette Stingray Z06 that will break cover at the Detroit motor show next week on January 13, and we quote the Google search result snippet for "Corvette Z06 supercar reveal" from the brand's official website:

"With 620 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2015 Corvette Z06 is the most advanced Corvette ever made. Read more about Chevy's supercar here."

Too bad Chevy deleted the contents of the page, so we can't actually click on the "read more" link to find out whether the 620-ponies (115hp more than the previous C6 Corvette Z06's 505hp 7.0-liter V8) are sourced from GM's upcoming 4.5-liter V8 turbo or another eight-cylinder unit.
