If you find the Austin Yellow-hued M4 Coupe and the Yas Marina Blue M3 sedan a bit too vibrant for your color taste buds, then how about the more traditional Black Sapphire M4 Coupe that's also on display at BMW's Detroit motor show booth?
Both the M3 sedan and M4 Coupe are making their world premiere at America's automobile capital as BMW prepares for their launch this spring at, as of yet, undisclosed prices.
Whichever one you choose, regardless of the name and the number of doors, you'll be treated to a new 3.0-liter straight-six turbo engine spitting out 425hp (431PS) from 5,500rpm to 7,300rpm and peak torque of 550Nm (406 lb-ft) between 1,850rpm and 5,500rpm.
BMW says that the M3 and M4 are approximately 80kg (176 lbs) lighter than the respective versions of the previous M3 series, with both models reaching 100km/h (62mph) in 4.1 seconds when fitted with the DCT dual clutch auto transmission and 4.3 seconds when you do the manual labor with the middle pedal (0 to 60mph or 96km/h in 4.1 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual and 3.9 seconds with the optional 7-speed DCT).
